The Maison d’Ailleurs and the EPAC have the pleasure of inviting you to the opening and awards ceremony of the Imaginary Landscapes competition on Friday, 16th December at 7 p.m.

The International Imaginary Landscapes competition is the fruit of collaboration between the EPAC, Academy of Contemporary Arts, the Maison d'Ailleurs, Switzerland, and the ASP, Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, Poland. The 700 entries, based on maps of imaginary lands, came up with fascinating landscapes as varied as the participants themselves. There were young students, tomorrow's artists, budding strip cartoon artists, painters, photographers, film animators, illustrators, and so on.

The jury selected 35 works which will be exhibited on printed panels and by projection.

1st  prize 1000 € : Othmane Loulidi Sââd, EPAC, Switzerland
2nd prize 500 € : Robert Zielinski, ASP, Poland
3rd prize ex aequo, 300 € : Hsieh Wen Ming, TNNUA, Taïwan R.O.C
3rd prize ex aequo, 300 € : Single Cells, GAFA, China

The International Imaginary Landscapes competition is the fruit of collaboration between the EPAC, the Maison d'Ailleurs in Yverdon, Switzerland, and the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, Poland. The 700 entries, based on maps of imaginary lands, came up with fascinating landscapes as varied as the participants themselves. There were young students, tomorrow's artists, budding strip cartoon artists, painters, photographers, film animators, illustrators, and so on.

The members of the jury of the International Imaginary Landscapes competition are:

They met at the EPAC on 6th May 2011 to assess the competition entries. It was a great pleasure for them to view the films and other documents that competitors placed on our server in November 2010.

Out of all these entries, the jury selected 30 works which will be exhibited on printed panels. The animated films will be projected during the travelling exhibition which will be shown, from September 2011 onwards, at the five participating institutions in Switzerland, Europe and Asia. The opening exhibition will be in the Stockalper Castle at Brig, in the context of Label'Art. Animated films from GAFA, TNNUA and ASP will be shown during the exhibition.

The jury wishes to thank the universities and their students who have participated in the International Imaginary Landscapes competition.

official opening on 10 September 2011 at 6 p.m.

Purpose:

The purpose of Imaginary-Landscapes Worldwide Interdisciplinary Art Competition is to make a selection of the three best art-pieces, as well as a selection of the  creations which are going to be exhibited in various countries and presented in catalogues. Prize-giving and first Exhibition in Switzerland will take place in House of Elsewhere, “Espace Jules Vernes", Yverdon les Bains, Switzerland, in 2011.
